Billing policy
Payment of accounts
Many of our examinations are bulk billed to Medicare. In these cases, Medicare pays us a rebate to cover the cost of your scan. However, there are a number of scans, such as ultrasound and Cone Beam CT, where the Medicare rebate does not cover the full cost of the scan, and you will be required to pay a fee (gap). All fees need to be paid on the day of your examination. X-Ray Newstead is proudly a private family-owned radiology practice. We attempt to keep our gap payments to a minimum while maintaining the highest standards in imaging technology.
We accept payment by:
Credit card (Visa, Mastercard) or EFTPOS
Direct Credit into our bank account – bank details provided on your invoice
If you have any queries about your account, please speak with our friendly reception staff on the day of your appointment.
Speeding up your Medicare refund claim
X-Ray Newstead has Medicare Australia online claiming available at our clinic. Your Medicare rebate can be paid directly into your bank account.
Pensioners and Healthcare Card Holders
We are proud to bulk bill pensioners and Health Care Card holders for all Medicare-rebatable examinations. If your examination is not eligible for a Medicare rebate and will attract a fee, our staff will inform you prior to your examination.
WorkCover and Motor Vehicle Accident accounts
These accounts are ultimately the patients’ responsibility. Please ensure your WorkCover claim is submitted and you notify us of your claim number as soon as available. For Motor Vehicle Accident claims, please identify and advise us of your MAIB insurance details.
If you have any questions regarding our billing policy, please do not hesitate to speak with our friendly staff prior to your appointment.
